Microanalysis through stringent testing procedures coupled with knowledge and specialist equipment can help to ensure that the water is suitable for both residential and commercial users.
Being located in a state within Australia where water is critical, Microanalysis understands the importance of water analysis and characterisation. Efforts to guarantee the state’s water supply have seen the implementation of desalination projects and water treatment plants to deal with a fast growing population. Industrial partners also need to know that the water they are using in their processes is; both free of chemical/physical contaminants, and is environmentally viable.
Our on-site instrumentation includes a Malvern Mastersizer 2000 and Micromeritics Sedigraph 5100 for accurate particle sizing, and two HIAC Royco 9703 Ultra Liquid Particle Counting Systems for particle size counting. Between them, these instruments can size particles from 20 nm to 2mm and provide sizing statistics across a range of specifications from NAS1638/SAE to ISO4406.
Additionally, we have the ability to perform standard procedures associated with water cleanliness such as total suspended solids (TSS), total dissolved solids (TDS), silt density index (SDI), salinity, dissolved oxygen, free chloride, Eh, pH and fluoride.
Our expertise and capability can provide you with a clear knowledge of what is suspended or dissolved in your water including:
- Cleanliness
- Particle counting
- Settling rate
- Dredge plume modelling
- Particle size
- Particulate composition and association (petrography)
- Particle aggregation
- Eh, pH, chloride, fluoride and dissolved oxygen
- Total suspended solids
- Total dissolved solids
- Silt density index
